old new year is this slavic old new year. as in, it is celebrated today, but then there's also the modern gregorian calendar new year on december 31st.

Old New Year, how to explain it...there are 2 calendars:julian and gregorian.The divergence of calendars is 13 days.and in 1918 year in Russia new chronology(gregorian) has been entered.and our New Year must be on 13th january but we of couse celebrate it on 31 december, but then we continue it on 13th=)) (More precisely from 31th to 14th=)))but October revolution we still celebrate in November=))i hope u understand=)
