Is anyone going? I want to go so fucking bad, but I can't find anyone to go with me. I'm not giving up, though. Someone will want to drive 8 hours with me and camp out for 3 days. Sounds like a fucking blast.

Let me guess... California only?

Yeah, it's in Indio, California. Eight hours from San Francisco.

People are flying from all over the world for it, though. Coachella is famous for reunion shows. This year is Rage Against The Machine, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Crowded House. In the past they've reunited Jane's Addiction, Siouxie & The Banshees, Iggy & The Stooges, Pixies and Gang Of Four.
This has led to rumors of The Police or Smashing Pumpkins being added later. *Crosses fingers*

That'd be nice, because I'm not sure how the hell I'm gonna convince someone to come with me. The average person doesn't have 400 bucks to spend, not when you're in college. I'm actually asking my parents to make this my birthday present. Hopefully they'll at least pay for part of it.
BassChick_GD
Jan 23 2007, 10:15 PM
that would be a great present.
I'm trying to convince my friends to go. No one wants to spend the money so I'm like "Look at it this way, think of it as 3 days of partying and music with no parentals" I'm desperate I want to go soo bad.

I could never fly across the country for a concert. haha. Though, if the Smashing Pumpkins get added, I would definatley be begging. I'd like to see the Jesus and Mary Chain, too.
EDIT: $400?! Fuck that, I'll wait until they come closer (if they so choose to, which they probably won't). I don't have $400 for a concert ticket and a few hundred more for a plane ticket.

Ticket for a 3-day pass: $250+Ticketmaster fee
Ticket for a camping pass: $45+Ticketmaster fee
Gas: About $120 from the Bay Area and back, divided by amount of people that come with me
Total estimated cost: $380 (with one other person)
Seeing Rage Against The Machine: Priceless
I'm not even going to buy food. I'm just going to bring tons and tons of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and water bottles.

I agree, Bonarroo is better this year, but Coachella is more epic - The Police are playing tons of shows, but Rage Against The Machine are only playing a handful (and Coachella is the FIRST). Plus the fact that Coachella has the reunions of The Jesus & Mary Chain, Crowded House and Happy Mondays is a major bonus.
My list looks like this (following the order on the poster):
Friday:
Interpol
The Jesus & Mary Chain
Arctic Monkeys
Sonic Youth
Stephen Marley
Gogol Bordello
Circa Survive
Silversun Pickups
Gillian Welch
Saturday:
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Arcade Fire
The Decemberists
Kings Of Leon
!!!
Fountains Of Wayne
Jack's Mannequin
The Nightwatchman
Sunday:
Rage Against The Machine
Happy Mondays
Willie Nelson
Crowded House
Kaiser Chiefs
Placebo
The Lemonheads
Against Me!
The Kooks

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I'm so excited!!!!
I might be going to Coachella after all! I'm part of WCW World Can't Wait, an organization to drive out Bush. This year Rage Against The Machine invited WCW to set up a table in their tent! So they need volunteers to work the table and I might be one of them! =] I'm so excited. I'm going on this conference call tonight at 10 to see what's going on so I hope everything goes well.
