We've moved the existing sports threads from General Chat to here, and if you can think of suggestions for additional topics to be added please post your ideas here.

I know this forum seems rather empty right now, but it seems most of the interest in Sports were contained in a few threads. So, please leave ideas here on threads you'd like so we can expand this place a bit more.

Yes but if people continually spam, as mentioned in the rules above, we'll remove their access to the sports forum.

Of course everthing is on trial basis. Right now we are going to be removing individual people from posting if needed, rather than removing post counts from everyone. That way everyone starts off with a clean slate, and the entire forum doesn't have to pay for someone else's stupidity.

what about a "what's your favourite sport?" thread? or is it too similar to the what sports do you like to play/watch thread?

What about a racquet sports thread? Like squash, tennis etc. Cause I think they're more underplayed than say football so they could all be merged into one thread

firstly, can i say thank you very very much. You know how much ive wanted this since the world cup thread and its wicked that your giving us this chance. The genuine sports fans wont let you down, i just know it. and ill personally do anything i can to bitch-whip the people who abuse it.

maybe we could subdivive the football thread into Champions league, FA cup, Carling cup and just standard league. and maybe it should just be the premiership, it should cover all leagues. It would subdivide the mish mash in the ELP thread.

Then if people were interested maybe we could spread to a bundesliga (sp?) thread, or la liga... ect.

Well the idea at the moment is to keep the EPL thread till the F.A quarter finals ( around March ).
Then I'll add a new thread just for the end of the season, and to incorporate the cups etc.

The Premiership thread seems to be going well for now.

Ooh, about judo and wrestling - what about if they were all grouped under "contact sports" or something. I know ruggers is a contact sport but I mean sort of like a one-on-one contact sport. Like taikwando and karate and all the many many more asian wrestling names they have

Ok this is now my favourite part of the whole forum! How about an Aussie Sports forum or something? Because I wouldn't mind discussing AFL and rugby league with some other Aussies but I think 2 seperate threads might be too much, seeing as no one other than Aussies would really care about those sports.

That seems fair enough, a combined Aussie Rules and Rugby League thread sounds like a good idea and there's bound to be some interest.
