Post counts are turned on but as we mentioned earlier we are starting this forum with the hope that people won't misuse it, so for the time being if individuals spam continually their permission to use the sports section will be removed.

But what makes you think people would spam a sports forum over all the other sub forums?

The same rule is likely be applied to those soon too, so it's not just for here.

No, we're not getting rid of post counts. We're saying if spam is a problem anywhere, we will remove the permission to post for that individual, instead of removing post counts for everyone.

Where did you get that from ?
The idea of leaving post counts on in the subforums is so that the majority of people who don't misuse them will not be penalized by the actions of a few people who might .
So if people do misuse them they will have their permissions to post in them removed.
That makes it fair for everyone.

No we're not talking about disabling people's post counts individually either.
They just won't be able to use those forums at all.

We haven't decided yet for sure exactly what we're going to be doing for all the forums. We did decide we would try this out with this forum first.

If someone comes in and is spamming, they will lose any privledge to post in this sub-forum.

Is that going to include blocking people (which is invitably going to happen) that for the sake of bumping there post count come in and just say 'i dont like football', 'i dont like tennis' ect. in each thread?

Well if people continually make a nuisance of themselves after being asked to stop then I guess we'll look at those situations.
Like Andres said, we haven't decided exactly what we'll do in the other forums yet and we thought that giving everyone a fair chance here and removing people's permissions to use the place if they abuse it was the fairest option. So we're trying it out here seeing as this place is starting from scratch.

A Martial Arts thread would be cool, could cover Judo, Karate etc
