Na-ah!
Handball is a huge sport, at least in Europe it is.. I think it deserves a thread!
Amanda
Jan 17 2007, 10:41 AM
Isn't handball the same as volleyball ?
Awesome
Jan 17 2007, 10:48 AM
Amanda.. I'm disappointed in you..
In volleyball you're punching a ball back and forth over a net.
In handball you run all the time and the point is to score goals. It's played indoors, and there is 7 players on each team. It's not even close to volleyball, except that you use your hands..
Or as the dictionary says:
Handball:
A violation of the rules in soccer in which a player other than the goalie inside the penalty area carries, strikes, or propels the ball with the hand or arm.

Jan 17 2007, 10:59 AM
Haha I dunno, it's not that popular where I am anyway.
If you think it's going to hold enough interest then I'll make a thread and we'll see.
Here you go

Question.
If I wanted to talk about having to learn to dance/dancing with a partner of the opposite in gym class would I put it in the
gym thread or could you ceate one in this forum with a poll or something asking if they have ever had to that in gym class. And have the thread talk about if any one who had dancing in gym class enjoyed it or not and tell any experiences they had that has some how changed there thoughts about dancing and gym class or anything like that.
I hope you understand what I am talking about.
Amanda
Jan 18 2007, 12:23 AM
Well if it's part of gym class then it can go in the thread you mentioned.

Gym isnt a sport.
The Doctor
Jan 18 2007, 03:30 PM
^ true, but many of the activities used in gym classes are sports! Such as trampolining and vaults and trojan horses or whatever they're called..

Can you please make a Mardaona v Pele poll?
Pleeeeeease.
Amanda
Jan 24 2007, 12:50 PM
If we start making polls comparing just 2 football players against each other, I don't see where it can end.
I think it would be much more fair and give a better varied conversation if I made a " Greatest Player Of All Time ? " thread, rather than just comparing a given two.
What do you think about that one ?

My Greatest footballer thread was a bad idea, it's not really much for discussion.

Well to me, anyway.
Could we replace it with a football trivia thread? That would be great.
Amanda
Jan 27 2007, 03:22 PM
Might be an idea if I merge the greatest footballer of today and all time into one thread so that people can give both answers and maybe that would make it more interesting.
Football trivia... I guess we could give it a go and see if it's popular.
mechanicalman
Jan 27 2007, 03:26 PM
Football trivia would be good.
Warning__
Jan 27 2007, 03:30 PM
The idea would be to ask a footballing question and next person answers it and if it's correct you post your own question.
I love that game.
Amanda
Jan 27 2007, 05:08 PM
Maybe it would be better to make one new thread for best player of the present and the past rather than merge the two existing ones ( we'll just get rid of those ).
Then I could add a football trivia thread for people to post their knowledge of trivia / facts, but it won't be a back and forth games thread for now.

I think there should be an Official Hockey thread, and then the Who's Your Favourite NHL team could go in there. Right now, there really isnt a place to discuss hockey in general.
Amanda
Feb 11 2007, 05:47 PM
Yeah, that thread is just an old one that was one of the threads carried over when we opened this forum.
It's not really active and hasn't been posted in for ages.
I'll get rid of it and make a general hockey thread for a more varied discussion.
