Except the part about dinosaurs, I think some of that is bull.
MAX123456
humm. i think i beleive it all lol. wink.gif

an old history teacher once said every single government changed the history in a way they liked .

I hate history, and every form of it. The only reason why it's taught in schools is because we aren't supposed to let history repeat itself. Bullshit -- Hitler was a modern day Napoleon, and the leader of Korea is like a modern day Hitler. Abe Lincoln was assissnated, and so was John F. Kennedy. No offense, we already are repeating history.

The_original_mrs_cool
i dont see any need for it to be fake.
culturally biased yes, but not wrong.
TotalBasketCase13
I believe in all history, except the biblical kind (such as "the great flood", the parting of the red sea, that stuff).
Light My Fire
i belive all of it except the history of a "god" and that bollocks.
Nicolle
some is very accurate but i don't like too much religion, that's opinion not history.
I think it'salso very hard to be exact so not all history is right like London fire... that took ages to fit together logically
mechanicalman
I believe most of history.
16PaperLanterns
i believe history. a few things, that were handed down through oral tradition aren't as believeable, but for the most part yes.
katie
i believe history. i dont know why there wouldnt be a reason to believe if they have facts.
example: dinosaurs, they have bones of them; so i believe it
Novacaine
I believe in most of it except all that Bible-God bullshit. Lies, lies, lies.
sharpies123
i believe in most of it but, like someone posted earlier, history is repeating itself. i mean, my history teacher has a poster of JFK and Lincoln and 'coincedence?' above it.

As we all know, the holocaust never happened.

Since history is always an interpretation of someone, I use to be critical with all that I read and try to read many diferent views.

apocalipstick
I believe it, but in the books it's shown from a very one-sided point of view. Also, some of the "ugly" points in history are swept under the rug and are not the kind of things that are shown to us.

Which reminds me, US History final exam tomorow, whoo.

I find history boring. I do believe in most of it except for some things.
BlindedByTheSilence
i don't know.... i guessi beleive most of it but not all of it, and i think some things had happened but much differently than it says in a textbook or something
Watoosh
I believe there's probably some truth to most everything they tell us. Maybe even 90% of it could be true. I don't think the faults are all because of people lying to try to hide things or anything, though, but just because of how artifacts can be misinterrpreted and things like that.

I've always thought it would be interesting to see how would civilizan would be describe to students centuries from now.

I hate when people deny it

as for other history or history in general...whatever.
I dont have a belief in any of it. if it's factual, then ok, thanks for telling me
although I always bug my mom that the story of Jesus is fictional- she's turning Catholic
and we always have debates about it. I say facts before fiction. Logic and evidence before storytelling
Haushinka797979
Okay, I believe most of history, minus the religious stuff, mostly because hundreds of years ago, all these guys decided to pick and choose what people would believe in and then changed stuff (they also mention this in the Da Vinci Code, remember how they made Jesus into a supernatural being, and cut out Mary Magdalen's stuff? But, just for the record, I learned this stuff in History class.... not just from a "fictitious" book). dry.gif

depends on the source.
They sugarcoat everything in my school book and make America look like the greatest thing ever.

And alot of people put there own spin on stuff or leave details out
I think it helps to expose yourself to as much as you can and try and put the pieces togetther.

Sorry to quote a musical- but this sums it up

"...we believe all sorts of
things that aren't true. We call it - "history."
A man's called a traitor - or liberator
A rich man's a thief - or philanthropist
Is one a crusader - or ruthless invader?
It's all in which label
Is able to persist"

You can never truly know what happened unless you were there.
