ANTI-FLAG
Die For The Government
Submitted by: Joe Cool
Though rarely for the faint of heart, Pittsburgh punk trio Anti-Flag is honest in their deliverance of fast, emotional punk anthems which cover topics from being a confused youth, to being under watch by the C.I.A. to poseurs in the punk scene in their first full release, Die For The Government. This CD can be easily be defined as political punk rock although that is not all their songs are about they do tend to stick to that definition with easily half of the CD being aimed towards political, or economical issues, which they boldly address without restraint. Although most of this CD's content is probably not suitable for children under 13 it does expose some ideas which are in high contrast to most mainstream political ideas that younger children may not be exposed to until they reach an older, more ignorant age. Upon listening to this CD one should approach it with an open mind and about 45 minutes of spare time, this CD can be found very catchy and contagious with its quick, snappy power chords and well written songs, or it can be found repulsive and disgusting with its extreme left wing political ideals and vulgar language. But either way, Die For The Government is well presented and has a lot of things to say, and it does it well.
