I'd say Led Zep, Oh and Guns N Roses. and Radiohead. and RHCP. Coldplay. At the moment Arctic Monkeys even thoug they are from my home town. It's not that I detest these bands but I just cannot see what the fuss is about. I do dislike James Boring Bland Blunt.

I think it has to be The Rolling Stones.
They've made a couple of great songs, but really don't deserve the status they achieved.
Why do they still tour?
Looking at them reminds me of when I was at school and they showed us footage of people being liberated from Nazi concentration camps.
Strolling Bones is right.

oh god where can i start?
ALL those rap and RnB shits like pussycat dolls, usher, 50 cent and all the rest of those talentless bastards who everyone seems to love for no particular reason.
All the sluts like gwen stefani, ciara, rihana, mariah carey and those people.
coldplay. whats the big deal? the songs all sound the same and they're all REALLY slow and seem to go for aaages.
and james blunt! whats with people liking him??
1. his songs lack anything close to a good tune
2. they're all so slow and always have soppy lyrics that were probably written in around 23 seconds
3. his voice! i'm hearing "o i love it it's so different!" ITS SHIT. IT MAKES MY EARS HURT. ITS SO WHINY AND *CRINGES*
yep-james blunt really sucks. i see no reason why people like him.
slso today i went to k-mart because i couldnt be stuffed to go to HMV to find some cd's. big mistake. the only section they have is POP. wheres the punk! they didn't have bad religion, anti-flag, misfits or anything! honestly i can't see why people are so obsessed with stuff like "my humps" by the fucking black eyed peas. and why do they get so much publicity when the song is so shit! also about a week ago i had 5 music channels on (MTV, chV, music max (which sucks anyway), rage, video hits (also sucks) and they didn't play one decent song in 2 hours.
sorry for the long post but it just makes me so angry that people like the black eyed peas and mariah carey make so much money out of crap music when our good old rancid get so little recognition.
its all my oppinion. if you don't like it-get over it.
Laura.

Most of the emo bands, yuck.
Give Led Zeppelin a good listen and you probably won't think they're overrated...
And most of the trash music nowadays is overrated.

Pusssycat Dolls, if they count. They're the "Hottest thing out right now", yet my Olde English Bulldog could write better music.

Any Hip Hop/Rap artist that ever made it. But I'm just biased, I hate that genre.
I'd go with the Alexisonfire, since it's one of the bands currently raging my school. Everyone loves them, it seems, except for me. I think all their songs sound like the same, constant screaming, with the occasional sung word.
But there are more, like the Rolling Stones, Guns n' Roses...pretty much everything else mentioned on this thread.

I think it's a little early to call the Arctic Monkeys the "most overrated band ever", maybe they are over-HYPED but at least give them a couple albums before calling them overrated. Anyway, i'd go with Coldplay - they have a couple good songs but not sure what all the fuss is about for the most part. I'm not a big U2 fan but they have have consistently put out good albums out for a couple decades so I have no idea how anyone could call them overrated.

Yea U2, Rolling Stones are. But, I would say Fall Out Boy, they're on every channel evertime you turn around. I just don't like them. And for here in Canada, Nickelback, muchmusic has them on all the time it's like please stop playing this.
If you listened to all of Led Zeppelin's albums, you wouldn't think that they are over-rated.

Ha Ha! Led Zep overated!? Ha Ha! Without Zeppelin, there wouldn't be a lot of bands out there today that are out there. Same goes with U2 and The Stones. You can't be serious when you say that a band is overated when they halped pave the way for a lot of bands of today. Not to mention that some of the musicians in those bands are some of the best ever.
Oh, and Oasis are not overated. The lyrics are pretty superior to what's out there today.
