Serious bullshit is going down. I’ve been on the phone all morning ( I do mean morning-- try 5am) with our label and the London Metropolitain Police (our manager is out of town). I’m told that the “clip” Yankee in a Chip Shop contains footage of us “engaged in violating British law” and that our rights of dissemination are in question. Serious bullshit.

Public officers had taken our names during one incident on the shoot, which we kinda laughed off.. I seriously thought they were rent-a-cops. Apparently our files had been in processing, and had gotten investigated due to CCTV tapes of us running down the middle of the huge roundabout at Piccadilly Circus that was the video’s finale.

Funny thing is, Epitaph, who’s under pressure here, didn’t have anything to do with making the video at all. The only money spent on this video came out of my pocket-- I’d been saving up checks from art jobs just to shoot this second video for our new record-- one that there was no budget for in our recording contract, but that I was passionate about, and knew that people would be tickled to see. Epitaph didn’t even know we were making a video! When we brought back the footage, they were thrilled, and then totally got behind us-- helping us get great online coverage, and hopefully TV as well. Having them behind us gets our video and song much more potential coverage. Maybe instead I should have just slipped the thing online right when we finished it. Forgone the pomp and circumstance and just had the parade, tho be it smaller, before the red tape and roadblocks went up.

I feel so sorry for Shawn right now, after all the effort him and Emilee (and the others) had put into this video. You could tell just how psyched they were getting to show the video finally.
i really hope things on this settle and hopefully he'll post it on a lesser known website for us to watch.

I recommend listening to any Matches song. Then again, I guess it was easy for me to get into them because at the time, the only things they had out were songs from when they were The Locals, and then E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals.

And for a tip, Shawn's blog had a crapload of more pictures and even his playlist.

I saw them recently. I think two weekends ago. It was that bass players last show or something. They changed so much from when I saw them three or four years ago.

I've actually never seen Shawn swirl his hips around, but he does do some crazy dance moves on stage. And once he was trying to stage dive and his crotch landed in my friend's face...

I had a dream the other night, t'was rather weird but all good at the same time. I know that all of them were in my house, i was on the stairs looking through the banisters and I just remember seeing Justin smiling back at me.. the others were there, but i couldn't see them.
Then, I ran outside and it was raining really, really had and I saw jon and he was like " Kryssi!" and I was like
"Jon!" and we had a rather intimate hug in the rain.... weird.
then after that, i remember Shawn placing both of his arms on each side of me and he got down to my level and was like "Everything's going to be fine, don't worry" and he was looking at me dead in my eyes and smiled. then took off his glasses and put them on me.

So like, you guys, I'm mailing off a box of goodies to my friend in Illinois tomorrow, she's interviewing them next month on the 9th. I can't wait!!! Like, i've wrote him a letter (Shawn), i put two shirts in there, one's wrapped in tissue paper, the other in this fancy wrapping paper... there's a polka dot tie in there, umm a bag of liquorice.
and also this painting that i've ALLLLMOSTTTT finished. I've just finished doing and outlining the logo for the band name on ABIH.

ahhhhhh i'm so excited. She's gonna hopefully see him before they play the show, and I asked her if she could get him on his own and record him when she gives him the box.. i just wanna see the look on his face <2
