Anyway, do any of you know how to rip videos from a non youtube or MySpace URL?

Gahhhh, the Wake The Sun video is immense. I love how Matt is pretty impassive the whole way through XD

Haha, Still Matt Whalen.... dear. I think he needs to put a smile in it.... that would make the video so much better, bless him. But I guess the motionlessness of him makes him more appealing... I have no idea.

I don't think it would be him if he was jumping about and stuff. He should have done a little Shawn-esque foot stomping

Okay so I bought the new album. When I first listened to it, I was kind of just like whatev. But I've listened to it more and more, and it's REALLY grown on me. It's not E. Von Dahl, but still. I like it more than Decomposer. My observations: Second half of the album is much better than first. Point Me Towards the Morning REALLY stood out to me when I first listened to the album. Good song. Darkness Rising=Good addition. The lyrics of From 24C are really really really great. Clouds Crash=My favorite song. SO good. Wake the Sun made me smile like a big dork. And I love the words in the last bit of Between Halloweens. "I was a duke last Halloween. This year, going to be James Dean. Just wish I knew who we are in between."
Good album. The Matches win.

Kelsey your ava makes me wanna lick my screen.... also I think you guys should go post lots of pics in The Matches pic thread so I can make icons XD
A Band in Hope is amazing, but at the min Decomposer is still my fav. I think once I listen to ABIH a little more my opinion could change.

I find it hard saying what I think about songs, because I haven't a bad word to say about any of their songs. Eeeek and I made Kels lovely, lovely ava. ^-^
I'm tempted to make one for Salty Eyes too... and Laura... I have PLENTY of pictures to post in The Matches picture thread.

Hahaha thank you.
But what is OSM? I'm so stupid haha.
a little taster ;)
Laura33
Mar 28 2008, 06:36 PM
*shifty* OSM = Awesome XD
Do you have many photo shoot pics? Even ones from the E.Von Dahl period and Decomposer
TreCoolSexLove
Mar 28 2008, 06:52 PM
Ahh!! I THOUGHT you ment awesome!!! Damn me and my ways.
And I'm gonna look through for you. I have a few photo shoots from Decomposer, but there's not that many photos out there really. They didn't do photo shoots during their E.Von Dahl days really, it was all a load of show photos and maybe the odd photo shoot or something like that.

I saw them last night on AP tour. They weren't too bad, but they're not really my style I guess. I found their performance kind of boring. They didn't do anything to try to connect with the audience at all really, like the other bands did. They just kinda came out, played, and left.
Laura33
Mar 29 2008, 02:27 PM
Boring? They are amazing live
and that acoustic version is sexual
Vanessa
Mar 29 2008, 02:31 PM
It was probably because they were rushed, I dunno. All the bands had to cut their sets a lot shorter because the concert was going longer than it was supposed to.
TreCoolSexLove
Mar 29 2008, 05:21 PM
The Matches are amazing live!!! They have a lot of energy too!! I mean, yeah they don't talk much during their sets, but you actually really need to see them at one of their tours rather than one like the AP tour, as you know, they actually spend time talking to their fans after the shows. They always have done, and that's more than you can say for SOME bands... *cough* GD *cough*
Even bands like Green Day, or MCR for instance, when they were at the level that The Matches were at, I bet for damn sure they weren't talking to fans and shit.
Oh and Kels!!
I literally got shivers down my spine when I first saw that video of To Build A Mountain on YouTube.
that's maybe the first time in YEARS that's happened.
Laura33
Mar 29 2008, 05:35 PM
*clears throat* Green Day used to hang about with people after gigs all of the time, and Billie just did PHGP gigs where he hung in the crowd watched support acts and talked to fans.
When I saw The Matches, yes they hung about, but not that many 'fans' did, most just left. Shawn sat at the bar talking to people as did everyone else.. I think Matt didn't stay about long. But that was a gig of about 100-200 people. You can't really compare tbh.
Anyways at my gig, Shawn talked to the audience loads, and because I was practically sitting on the stage Justin kept making sure I was ok because I was bing pushed all of the time, but I was grand XD

Mar 29 2008, 08:18 PM
Woops, well sure I didn't know that much about Green Day, I didn't think that they'd ever hung out with fans... but anyway.
I mean, it was my first time seeing them this month, and Shawn asked me out to go drinking with them after the show, and one of my friends, said it was her 10th time seeing them and she'd only just got asked that time haha.
But I was really chuffed to see that they were indeed really great with their fans, like i've heard so much about.
Ahhh, bring them back to the UK.
Because I didn't get them that round of drinks I promised them, I had to almost literally be dragged away by my friend who made me go.

*Ahem* Yeah Kryssi,MCR still come out and talk to fans Of course they don't hang out with fans as much as they used to but they still come out after most shows The last Uk tour not so much because half the band was sick/absent But the one before that they did fo' sho'
Sorry. Its my inner MCR teenie.Sometimes it just takes control of me
'Wake the Sun' is so fucking uplifting and lovely,it just makes my day that lil' bit better

Ahh feck, looks like I've been proved wrong on both band accounts.. but i bet there's millions of other bands out there.... that don't talk to fans... I've heard that Gallows abuse their fans in the crowd by hurling abuse at them at shows... ugh.
And today, I was walking home from getting dropped off by the bus from work, and today it's so beautiful outside and listening to Wake The Sun was so awesome... it just made me 1000000 times happier. My friends seeing them tonight at her friends bar, I'm so envious and happy for her it's unreal.
Ahhh I want that Shawn.
Oh!! And on the AP tour, it kinda depends how long the show is over running, because I've heard of them having to rush their set a few nights because the band before have gone on for a tad longer than what they should've gone on for. I think it's around 5 or 6 songs or something.

I keep trying to guess which songs on this album are from the Decomposer sessions (it was mentioned in the AP article) Anyone have opinions to which ones they are? My guesses are Their City, Yankee In a Chip Shop, If I Were You, and Point Me Toward the Morning.
*300 posts! WOOT*
king4aday27
Mar 30 2008, 07:41 PM
who let the yankees in the chip shop definitely is because they played it at their live shows even before decomposer came out, and also here's to love (hahaha) was from decomposer era because they would play that live too. and that's all i know.

Oh yea, and does anyone know, (or strongly assume,) that they are going to tour in the US after the AP tour? It would be awesome, considering I missed the AP tour, and I would like to see them at their own concert, not a festival

^^^ I know that Kels, my other friend who was gonna go see them at the Grand Rapids show is pretty bummed out too.
I think maybe the guys are gonna take a break between the end of the AP tour and the 2 days in Japan... by god they need it, bless 'em.
And I heard, as I'll say agaaain, that they're wanting to tour over in the UK again in 'the fall'. Well, we call that season, Autumn. ha. But I'm gonna make sure I go to more than ONE date this time.

you know someone else in MI?
I really love Shawn's love songs like From 24C is sad, Clouds Crash is romantic, and Future Tense is like exciting. From 24C sounds really sad though, I feel bad for him

Mhmm I do indeed. I'm not sure what PART though, but I guess I should introduce you two. ;) Her name's Beverly, she posts reguarly on my page on MySpace haha.
And yeah, I love them too. I love From 24C, if that's based on some sort of factual basis of his life, then I feel shit sorry for him. I mean, you would've thought that women wouldn't do that kinda stuff to him... well I know I wouldn't anyway. If I got half the chance, I'd make sure that he was the apple of my eye all the time, fuck other guys... who needs a side dish when you have Shawn FECKING Harris!!!?
